World Mental Health Day 2022 Announced

Make mental health & well-being for all a global priority

#WorldMentalHealthDay

10th October 2022

The World Health Organisation supports annually, mental health across the planet, and this year with the wars and famine across manyl continents, including the UK's cost of living crisis; Unionsafety and all those concerned with mental health know that one of the greatest casualties to this crisis, is that of our mental health.

Suicide is an even greater risk as people sturggle to pay bills, by food, and suffer with low paid jobs; with this all leading to a feeling of hopelessness for so many.

With over 4 million families living in poverty, despite being employed; having good mental health is a priority in order to deal with life's problems at th emoment.

The UK's Mental Health Foundation, CWU's NW Regional Mental Health Forum and many organisations such as the Samaritans and Papyrus provide support for those in need of help.

The World Health Organisation says on its World Mental Health Day 2022 web pages:

'WHO will work with partners to launch a campaign around the theme of Making Mental Health & Well-Being for All a Global Priority. This will be an opportunity for people with mental health conditions, advocates, governments, employers, employees and other stakeholders to come together to recognize progress in this field and to be vocal about what we need to do to ensure Mental Health & Well-Being becomes a Global Priority for all.'
